A Soda That Tastes Like Space...?
To celebrate 25 years of the brilliant National Space Centre, they gave us a challenge we couldn’t refuse:
Can you make a soda that tastes like space?
So… what does space taste like?
The Centre’s team came to us with a wonderfully unexpected scientific fact. Using a radio telescope, scientists studied Sagittarius B2, a huge star-forming dust cloud near the centre of the Milky Way, searching for complex “building blocks of life.”
They didn’t find amino acids, but they did find something fascinating:
Ethyl formate.
And here’s the fun part: ethyl formate is a key compound in what gives raspberries their distinctive flavour and aroma.
Which means, in a very real scientific sense,
the centre of our galaxy smells, and possibly tastes, a little like raspberries.

Armed with this knowledge, we set about creating something worthy of the occasion.
The result? A celebratory raspberry-forward soda that’s bright, vibrant, and just a little bit cosmic. Juicy berry notes meet refreshing sparkle, playful, surprising, and completely out of this world.

You’ll have to go on a small mission of your own…
This special edition soda is only available at the National Space Centre.
So if you fancy tasting a tiny piece of the galaxy (with a lot more sparkle and slightly less vacuum), you know where to find it 🚀✨
